Day 2: Adventure Mishaps and Farms on Farms

After John kindly drove us from the Camp junction house B&B with "panoramic views" we began our trek of the day. In the ride I highly recommended John to watch Waking Ned Divine as he reminded me of the Irish actor Ian Bannen. Too bad I didn't get a photo with him as he was a character and a half referring to himself as a "Yankee doodle" since he was born in Chicago. Anyway here is a view from our B&B at Camp.

Our first adventure mishap was thinking we had taken a wrong turn. Upon returning to our starting point we realized that we had in fact been on the right trak all along. Our more interesting adventure mishap was thinking we could cross the flooded river causeway.

After stepping through the icy cold water I realized there was no way. The guided rope wasn't tight enough and the water rushing over the third rock was too deep. Plunging into the  river with all my gear did not seem pleasant so we took the bridge instead. From here it was clear sailing.
Landscapes were very different from the day before. There was a great deal of sheep and donkeys. We ran into some lovely locals with their sheep dogs tagging at their heals. Dingle walkers were behind us from the USA that we kept awkwardly running into and may have even given them wrong directions, inadvertantly at one point. Whoops! Hopefully we won't see them again.

Some farm scenes..

Also Fiona and I are on our honeymoon. Didn't you know?

Currently the maternal unit is knitting
Needing a bit of a top off on wine as you can see. And Fiona is reconnecting while wifi is plenty
It's been great to relax and stretch! Annascaul has been good to us. It's actually the home of Shackletons great friend Tom Crean whom he explored the South Pole with in 1912! Isn't that fab!?

Peace and love!
